Getting to the range

During the Freshers’ sessions arrangements will be made for freshers to be taken by car to the range. Details will be posted on the website and sent via the mailing list. If you miss the freshers’ sessions, email the club secretary (via contact feature on website) and he will organise someone to take you to the range. Often club members take the bus together and those with cars often give lifts to and from the range.

The range is at the Lord Nuffield Club, just outside the city centre in Cowley. It takes about 15 minutes to cycle to or about 15 minutes of a short bus ride or walk. Click here to get directions from your place of residence to the range from Google Maps.

Bus

Take a number 1 or 5 bus from the High, buy a ticket for Marsh Road. This goes along Cowley Rd., past the Carling Academy, past a branch of the Radcliff infirmary (not the main hospital, though!).
After a large housing estate and “Simon’s Fish & Chip shop” on your left, you need to ring the bell and then get off the bus just after the Exeter Hall pub on your left. Then backtrack up Cowley road for about 30 yards to Marsh road. Walk up marsh road for 50 yards until you come to a footpath on the left. Follow this footpath for 400 yards until you reach a T junction. Turn right and continue until you reach the road. Keep going up the road (slight hill) until you see the Lord Nuffield Club on the right hand side (hard to miss).

Cycle

Go over Magdalen bridge onto the roundabout. Take the second exit along Cowley road. Cycle past the Carling Academy, past a branch of the Radcliff infirmary (not the main hospital though!).
